PURPOSE:To obtain the title refractory material having excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion by incorporating magnesia coated with aluminum and graphite into an unburned retractory material. CONSTITUTION:Magnesia coated with aluminum is used in the unburned refractory material contg. carbon and magnesia, and the material contains 1-70% graphite and 99-30% aluminum-coated magnesia. The Al-coated MgO is obtained by coating magnesia (having <= about 10mm grain diameter) with Al, and the Al having >= about 90% purity can be satisfactorily used. When <1% graphite is used, the resistance of a brick to slag, spalling, etc., becomes insufficient, and the structure is remarkably deteriorated at >70% graphite. |
