PURPOSE:To prevent the enlargement of water immersion effectively by surrounding a water-absorbing resin composite of core wire and its aggregate, with a tape. CONSTITUTION:In a loose pipe type cable, a water absorbing wire-like body 6 exists at a part of gap between respective wire-like elements of secondary aggregate, at least one piece of the wire-like elements is wound by a water- absorbing tape 8, a water-absorbing wire-like body 7 exists at at least a part of gap between an outer cover and the wire-like element, the tape and wire-like body is, respectively, composed of a water-absorbing high molecular composite obtained by polymerizing soluble ethylene unsaturable monomer impregnated or applied to a support body to be processed in the form of tape or wire. This high molecular composite swells speedily due to water absorbing action, thereby the volume of cable increases at the time of generation of water immersion caused by breakage of the outer cover of cable. It is thus possible to prevent the enlargement of water immersion effectively. |
