PURPOSE:To perform transfer several times by forming a thermal transfer recording medium by providing a microporous layer composed of a high- molecular substance containing a wax component, a coloring component and a compound represented by a specific general formula on a heat-resistant base material. CONSTITUTION:An ink dispersion is prepared by dispersing a compound represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are respectively dependently a 1-20C alkyl group), a wax component and a colorant in a proper solvent in a predetermined ratio while a high-molecular substance is dissolved in a proper solvent to prepare a high-molecular substance solution. The aforementioned ink dispersion and the high-molecular substance solution are mixed in a predetermained ratio to prepare a coating solution which is, in turn, applied to a heat-resistant base material and dried to form a microporous layer to prepare a thermal transfer recording medium. This thermal transfer recording medium is reduced in a lowering of density and can be subjected to printing several times. |
