PURPOSE:To easily read a vertically written sentence, to lengthen a recording medium and to display a large volume of sentences, etc., by selectively applying a voltage to a recording electrode while the recording medium is moved horizontally, and forming an image pattern on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A developer carrying belt 14 moves to carry developer in a developer vessel 10 upward, and the developer is attracted to the upper-most nonmagnetic cylinder 3 by the magnetic force of a rotary magnet 2. By the developer carrying belt 14 and the rotation of the rotary magnet 2, the developer forms a uniform layer around the recording electrode 4, and slightly comes into contact with the recording medium 5. However, when a prescribed voltage is not applied to the recording electrode 4, electromagnetic force does not arise between the developer and the recording medium, whereby the developer is never electromagnetically attracted to the recording medium 5. On the other hand, when a prescribed voltage is applied to the recording medium 5, electromagnetic force arises to fix the developer on the recording medium 5. Thus, a vertically written sentence can be read more readily, the recording medium is lengthened, whereby a large volume of sentences, etc., can be displayed. |
