ORGANIC NONLINEAR OPTICAL MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To increase the SHG activity of the org. nonlinear optical material and to stabilize the material at room temp. by consisting the material of specific N-methoxymethyl-4-nitroaniline. CONSTITUTION:This org. nonlinear optical material consists of the N- methoxymethyl-4-nitroaniline expressed by the formula I. The N- methoxymethyl-4-nitroaniline is obtd. in the form of a transparent pale yellowish acicular crystal by bringing 4-nitroaniline, formaldehyde and methanol into reaction in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. The N-methoxymethyl-4- nitroaniline generates second harmonic waves and green light of 1/2 wavelength (532nm) of the incident light by irradiating the nitroaniline width Nd.YAG laser (1,064nm wavelength) in powder method measurement. The N- methoxymethyl-4-nitroaniline is the single crystal having no symmetric centers and, therefore, exhibits the SHG activity, is thermally stable and can be easily grown to a large single crystal.
