In a welding apparatus for joining the ends of two thermoplastic tapes together, which comprises a workbench with a slit opening arranged transversely to the running direction of the webs of material and a welding blade which can be moved into this slit opening, the welding blade is arranged vertically adjustably, parallel to its horizontal lower edge, on a holding stand. The welding blade, which advantageously can be swung to the side, is arranged pivotably at the end of two holding bars arranged parallel to each other, the other end of the two holding bars being mounted pivotably on a vertical stand. On either side of the upper edge of the welding blade there is arranged a heating bar in a sleeve, which is firmly connected to the welding blade. <IMAGE> |
