PURPOSE:To provide at a low price a battery having required voltage at 2V intervals and eliminate a separating wall of a container to increase volume efficiency by forming a cell by arranging an electrode group holding an electrolyte within a synthetic resin film packing body, and accommodating them after connecting required cells in a container having a single exhaust valve. CONSTITUTION:An electrode group 4 comprising a positive plate 1, a negative plate 2, and a retainer 3 is packed in a packing body 5 comprising a soft synthetic resin film, and an electrolyte is hold in pores to form a cell 6. The required number of cells are accommodated in a mother container 11 of a container 10, and a positive terminal 7 and a negative terminal 8 of adjacent cell 6 are connected in series with a connecting bar 12. The terminals which locate in each end of the positive terminal and the negative terminal and are not connected to the connecting bar 12 are drawn out to the outside of the container 10 through a container cover 13. The mother container 11 is covered with the container cover 13. An exhaust valve 14 is installed in one portion of the container cover. |
