PURPOSE:To enhance color developability and the stability of a developed color image by utilizing the development of a color due to the contact of an electron donating leuco dye being a specific compound with an electron acceptable compound. CONSTITUTION:2-p-ethylanilino-3-methyl-6-dialkylaminofluororane being an electron donating leuco dye is compounded with an electron acceptable compound to prepare a coating solution which is, in turn, applied to a support and dried to form a recording layer to prepare a recording material. As the aforementioned electron acceptable compound, a compound provided with a group having a hydrogen atom showing acidity such as a phenolic hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group or an imide group is pref. As the dialkylamino group at the 6-position of the aforementioned leuco dye, a 4-8C secondary amine residue is most suitable. |
