PURPOSE: To simplify the configuration, to make the contact pickup small in size, light in weight, and to reduce the cost by allowing a coil to provide an output of a current change corresponding to a relative motion in response to a vibration of a vibration medium produced between the coil and a magnetic field generating means. CONSTITUTION: When a coil 2 is fitted to a vibrating medium such as a musical instrument, the coil 2 is vibrated in matching with the vibration of the medium. On the other hand, since magnet 3 has an inertia corresponding to its mass, the vibration of the magnet 3 differs from that of the coil 2, resulting in causing a relative motion between the coil 2 and the magnet 3. Let the turn direction of a winding of the coil 2 be a circumferential direction of the coil 2, let the polarity of the magnet 3 by indicated by, N, S. Then, an AC signal corresponding to the mechanical vibration of the vibrating medium can be obtained from the coil 2 by letting the sense of the magnetic flux of the magnet 3 and the current flowing in the coil 2 cross with each other. Thus, the simplified configuration is obtained, the pickup is manufactured at the low cost and the miniaturization and light weight are facilitated. |
