<p>PURPOSE:To perform start by stable gas phase burning while shortening a preheating time by providing a start burner part provided with a flame holder in the outlet side of a catalyzer block. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas 70 is introduced in a start burner part 110 of the outlet face of a catalyzer block 31 incorporated in a contact burning device 30 to ignite by a ignition plug so as to start burning. Because the shape of a flame holding plate 110A is in the form of a triangular pyramid and widened as come to the back flow side, so that a gas flow in the neighborhood of the start burner part 110 can flow smoothly, a pressure loss is low and further a reverse flow region is formed in the upper part (gas lower flow side) of the flame holding plate 110A, stable burning continues. The catalyzer block 31 is preheated up to the ignition temperature of the fuel by radiation heat from the start burner and the flame holding plate 110.</p> |
