1. A process for the wet treatment, in particular the cleaning, bleaching, mordanting, dyeing, fixing and the like of textile material, in particular with capillary-active properties in the form of knobs, yarns or piece goods, where the treatment is carried out using chemicals which are dissolved in a liquid contained in a vessel, where moreover the liquid is heated to a predetermined temperature and is moved through the materials by a pumping device at least during part of the dyeing time, characterised in that the liquid is firstly heated to a predetermined temperature of less than 100 degrees C, that then the pressure in the vessel is reduced until a preselected value is reached, said value corresponding to a saturation vapour temperature which is substantially lower than the predetermined temperature of the liquid, so that the liquid comes vigorously to the boil, and that by introducing a gas which under the process conditions - temperature, pressure, type of liquid - does not condense and does not result in a dilution of the liquid, a plurality of fine-pored bubbles are produced in the entire volume of the liquid whereby the liquid is subjected to an intensive, additional movement.
