The invention provides benzoylthiourea compounds of general formula <CHEM> wherein each of A, B, X and Z independently represents a fluorine or chlorine atom; n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; p is 0 or 1; Y represents a haloalkyl group of up to 6 carbon atoms; and R<1> represents a hydrogen atom or the group -SNR<2>R<3> in which R<2> represents an alkyl group of up to 6 carbon atoms and R<3> represents an alkyl group of up to 6 carbon atoms or a group of formula -COR<4> or -COOR<4> in which R<4> represents an alkyl group of up to 6 carbon atoms, or R<2> and R<3> together represent an alkylene group having 4 or 5 carbon atoms and optionally substituted by an alkoxycarbonyl group having up to 6 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety; processes for their preparation; their use as pesticides, particularly as insecticides and acaricides; and their use as intermediates in the preparation of benzoylureas.
