PURPOSE: To sufficiently stabilize an intraocular corrective lens in its position and minimize a risk to a patient, such as the risk of the intraocular lens accidentally coming into contact with the crystalline lens during insertion or implantation, by positioning the intraocular lens with a positioning means at the front and the rear of the body of the intraocular lens. CONSTITUTION: An intraocular corrective lens 1 has a main body, i.e., an optical component 2, of a selected diameter (for example, approximately 6mm). The optical component 2 has a rim 3, and to this rim is attached a pair of haptics, for keeping the lens in place, positioned more or less across the diameter of the lens (shown as a front haptic 4 and a rear haptic 5). The haptics 4 and 5 have a means to change their forms elastically. (For example, they have continuous, flexible strands almost in the shape of a sinusoid). The haptics 4 and 5 extend outwards from their stems 6 and 7, and have a horizontal rim 8 for the front haptic and a horizontal rim 9 for the rear haptic, each rim forming a horizontal edge. The horizontal length L of the front rim 8 is approximately 6mm; the horizontal length T of the rear rim 9 is shorter than the length L, and is approximately 2-3mm.
|
