PURPOSE:To keep printing quality well and to reduce load from the aspect of operation and maintenance and control by constituting the title press so that the temp. of a printing plate is controlled to a dew point or less under the control of a control part. CONSTITUTION:A cooling medium is supplied to the inner hollow part of a plate cylinder 1 to be recirculated and the printing plate mounted to said cylinder is cooled to a dew point or less through the peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 1. The temp. and humidity of an atmosphere are detected by the first temp. detection means 4 and a humidity detection means 5 and a control part 7 calculates a dew point from the detected values and operates a temp. control means 3 to cool the cooling medium. The temp. of the plate cylinder 1, the printing plate or the cooling medium is detected by the second temp. detection means 6, 6' and the detected value is fed back to the control part 7 to hold the temp. of the printing plate to an appropriate value equal to or less than the dew point. By this method, the steam of the atmosphere around the plate cylinder 1 is almost uniformly condensed on the printing plate to form fine water droplets or an extremely thin water film. |
