PURPOSE:To achieve an economical deodorizing at high treatment efficiencies by forming sheets of peat composed of short-filament peat and ceramic filaments into a corrugated shape, causing a packing material which is formed by superposing said sheets on one another to carry microorganisms thereon, and passing malodorous air in the direction of through holes. CONSTITUTION:A peat sheet comprising short-filament peat and ceramic filaments is prepared, wherein, in weight ratio, the short-filament peat having 8-27 mesh accounts for 50% or more of total weight, while the ceramic filaments account for most of the remainder. The peat sheets thus prepared are formed into a corrugated shape and superposed on one another to form a packing material 1, which are made to carry microorganisms, whereby malodorous air is passed therethrough in a direction of through holes 3. Further, in order to promote treatment efficiencies, at the contact surface between the packing materials (a), (b) having corrugated shape and laminated structure, ridges 2 of corrugation of both the materials (a), (b) are arranged to cross edge other or form a symmetrical relationship. As a result, economical deodorization having high treatment efficiencies and durability, wherein maintenance of apparatus is easy, can be obtained. |
