An apparatus (1) for sorting products (2) in multiple transfer lines (6,7) directed from an advancement line (4) comprises: a rotating conveyor (4) for transferring the products (2) in succession; a cylindrical conveyor head (12) adapted to receive the products (2) in succession from the rotating conveyor (4); two further chain conveyors (6,7) having respective inlets adjacent to different exit regions of the cylindrical conveyor head (12); and means (11) for checking the conformity of the products (2) conveyed by the rotating conveyor (4). The cylindrical conveyor head (12) comprises pneumatic retention means (31) for the products (2) which are adapted to lead the defective products (2) towards the inlet of one of the two chain conveyors (6 or 7) and to make the normal products (2) advance toward the inlet of the other chain conveyor (6 or 7).
