A motor arrangement includes a double-wound ac induction motor (1) with a circuit (7) for providing a polyphase fixed-frequency excitation current with a phase rotation which is dependent on the direction of rotation of the motor (1), on the stator winding (3), and a dc-link invertor (18) on the rotor winding (5).
