An installation for the disposal of fluorescent and gas-pressurised lamps is described, in which the lamps (1) are fed to a crushing wheel (4) rotating in a housing (3) to smash them. The housing (3) has a funnel (11) which feeds the broken pieces to a sealed sorting device (13). The socket parts are sorted out magnetically there and are conveyed via a sluice (14) into a silo (17). The non-magnetic broken pieces are passed into a sealed heating chamber (25) and, after heating, are conveyed via a sluice (32) into a silo (35). An extraction device (20) with a dust filter is connected to the crushing wheel housing (3), the sorting device (13) and the heating chamber (25) and feeds the exhaust air to an activated-charcoal filter (38) for the removal of hazardous gases and vapours. A separator (19) can be connected upstream of the heating chamber, the latter being in the form of an oven (25) with a gas ring burner (29), into which separator (19) the non-magnetic broken pieces are conveyed by means of the vacuum air of the extraction device (20). The exhaust air from the oven is likewise fed to the extraction device (20). Compressed air (16, 34) is used for conveying the socket parts and the de-gassed non-magnetic parts into their silos (17, 35), and the exhaust air of the silos (17, 35) is likewise fed via activated-charcoal filters (36, 37).

|
