摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve the contrast of an image by providing a ferroelectric layer covering a 1st electrode and an insulating substrate and then providing a 2nd electrode on the ferroelectric layer so that the 2nd electrode overlaps with the 1st electrode across the ferroelectric layer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st electrode 13 is formed of ITO provided on the insulating substrate 12 made of a glass substrate, the ferroelectric layer 14 is made of the copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene provided on the 1st electrode 13, and the 2nd electrode 15 is made of Cr provided on the ferroelectric layer 14. This ferroelectric layer 14 is provided covering the 1st electrode 13 and insulating substrate 12 and the 2nd electrode 15 is provided overlapping with the 1st electrode 13 across the ferroelectric layer 14. Here, the dielectric layer 14 at the part sandwiched between the 1st and 2nd electrodes 13 and 15 operates as the active layer of the active device. Consequently, a sharp, high-contrast image is obtained.</p>
