An arabinose is recovered by selective solid bed adsorption from the aq. raw mixt. contg. monosaccharide (selected from a gp. of aldopentose and aldohexose) and arabinose. The process comprises (a) contacting the mixt. with barium-glass adsorbent i.e. y-type zeolite for selective adsorbing arabinose, (b) removing non-adsorbed at the contacting state (with desorbent i.e. water) by the simulated moving bed flow, and (c) desorbing/recovering highly pure arabinose.
