PURPOSE:To eliminate the transfer shift of color pattern without increasing a non-image forming section by moving a pressure roller by rotation and making it variable on the periphery of a platen roller. CONSTITUTION:While paper to be transported is in a stationary condition, a thermal transfer film 4 has the ink section position between a thermal head 3 and a platen roller. Pressure rollers 15, 18 are closest to an image formation section. If in this condition, a thermal head 3 is heated and a thermal transfer action begins, the platen roller 2 is rotated, and subsequently, the pressure roller 15, 18 are rotated. At that time, the pressure roller 15 is rotated together with the platen roller 2 and moves from a broken line to a solid line, synchronized with an image formation action. Then the pressure roller 15 arrives at a position marked by a solid line and stops. Consequently, the volume of paper wound around the platen roller gradually increases with the action of the pressure roller 15. When the platen roller stops, the volume of paper wound increases sufficiently so that no slippage occurs between the platen roller 2 and the paper. |
