A packaged absorbent sanitary device (2) such as a pant liner comprising a folded form having an outwardly facing garment contacting adhesive layer (4) on one surface and a releasable protector (5) extending (6) over the adhesive layer and beyond at least one edge of the pad (2) wherein the pad comprises a unitary layer of an absorbent material and wherein extended regions of the protector are sealed together (8) to form the packaging.
