An intrauterine contraceptive device has no thread and takes the form of a resilient loop. The loop is compressed for insertion into the uterus and expands to a stable position in which a plurality of nodes (14, 16, 18, 20) contact the uterine wall. A retriever can grip any section of the loop for removal of the device. |
