PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the wettability so that a uniform oriented film can be applied to the surface of a color filter consisting of a hydrophobic high polymer, as well by bringing the surface of the color filter to surface treatment by a silane coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:From an electrodeposition solution of a prescribed composition, stripe-like color filters 13 of red, green and blue are formed on transparent electrodes 12 of a glass substrate 11. This glass substrate is brought to dipping in a liquid in which a silane coupling agent is melted, and thereafter, by drying it by fleon evaporation, a surface treatment of the color filter is executed. Subsequently, by applying a prescribed solution onto the color filter by a printing method, a uniform oriented film 14 is obtained. This film 14 is calcined and rubbed in a certain direction with a cotton textile and a rubbing treatment is performed, and thereafter, a second transparent electrode 16 is provided on a second glass substrate 15, an oriented film 17 is formed thereon, opposed to that which is brought to rubbing and the substrate 11 is stuck thereto, and a liquid crystal 18 is filled between them. In such a way, the uniform oriented film can be formed on an organic color filter, as well. |
