PURPOSE:To speed up a processing by efficiently performing the read of a neighboring picture element at the time when the picture processing of a remarked picture element is performed by using the neighboring picture element. CONSTITUTION:A comparing part 11 compares density information fi with a threshold Thi read out from a reference table 15, and outputs the picture element data Gi of one bit, and shifts-in it successively to a shift register part 13, and the picture element data of a scanning line in the past older than the scanning line stored at present is stored in a neighboring line buffer part 14. The picture element data of a neighboring area to be read out from the neighboring line buffer part 14 and the picture element data to be read out from the shift register part 13 are supplied to the reference table 15 as a reference address G, and the threshold Thi specified by the reference address G is outputted to the comparing part 11. A control part 16 performs such control as to bit-shift the data when the contents of the neighboring line buffer 14 is updated. Thus, the number of times of the reference of neighboring picture element data can be reduced, and processing speed can be extremely improved. |
