The seat according to the invention comprises a foot 3 resting on the floor 5 of the enclosure by means of rolling members 6, at least one linking bar 7 secured to the foot and provided at its free end with rollers retained in the guide rail 1 in which they can move longitudinally, locking means 15, 16 for immobilising it in any position whatsoever along a trajectory parallel to the guide rail 1, and control means 19, which its user is obliged to actuate in order to deactivate the locking means 15-17. By virtue of its locking means there is no risk of this seat being thrown against the walls of the hospital vehicle (ambulance) during an abrupt deceleration, which protects its user. <IMAGE>
