PURPOSE: To improve the stability and reproducibility in the case of deciding the concentration of oxidative and reducible chemical substances by holding electrolyte in a cell by the film which is permeable to ozone but impermeable to the electrolyte, and separating it from external fluid. CONSTITUTION: A sensing electrode 10 made of chemically inactive metal having an electroanalyzing surface 100 and wound at the side with an insulator 11 is provided at a cell 1. An opposite electrode 12 surrounds the insulator 11, and an electrically insulating jacket 17 is provided at the outside of the cell 1. A membrane 18 is supported to the top of the cell 1 by a support ring 19. Aqueous electrolyte 15 dispersively containing redox catalyst as solute is brought into contact with the surface 100, te surface 120 of the electrode 12 and the inner surface 10 of the membrane 18. External sample fluid S is brought into contact with the surface 181, ozone as oxidative and reducible substance permeates the membrane 18, converted into chemically electroactive intermediate substance by the redox catalyst, reacted with sensing current to generate support electric signal proportional to the ozone concentration in the liquid. |
