PURPOSE:To inhibit the production of unfertilized eggs by feeding chickens with either breeding water or feed each having been adjusted to an weakly alkaline state in advance. CONSTITUTION:Breeding water is incorporated with e.g., a Ca-contg. substance and made weakly alkaline at a pH of ca. 7.0-7.5. The resultant water is then fed to chickens. The Ca-contg. substance is e.g., Ca(OH)2, CaCO3, CaO. CaCO3 is the most preferable because of its favorable handleability. Or the composition of a feed is regulated and one of the Ca-contg. substances is then formulated into the feed so as to be able to retain weak alkalinity within the chicken body. |
