摘要 The invention relates to a measuring instrument for determining the capacitance between two electrically conductive elements (2, 3) of a cable (1), comprising a measuring alternating-voltage source (WS), with a measuring device (ME), with a measurement computer (MR) for detecting and evaluating the measurement quantity determined by the measuring device (ME) and with an output unit (A) for representing the measurement value of the capacitance per unit length to be determined. A sufficiently accurate measurement value even for relatively long cables is obtained in a simple manner by the measuring frequency of the alternating-voltage source (WS) being selected to be of such a magnitude that the measurement value determined directly has an inadmissible error and that a correction computer (KR) and an input unit for the value of the cable length (L) are provided by means of which the measurement value determined directly can be corrected in dependence on the length (L) of the cable to be examined, and that the corrected measurement value is supplied to the output unit (A). <IMAGE>
