The device includes an operational conveyor 1 with compartments 2, for the fish, divided into cells 5 by means of partitions 6. In the direction of advance of the conveyor 1 are mounted means 9, 10, 11 for processing the fish. A tube 18 for supplying empty cans (tins) is led towards the exit of the conveyor 1. Above the conveyor 1 is mounted an additional conveyor 14 which has clamping lids 16 of which those in the lower run 17 of the conveyor are arranged above the cells 5. The lids 16 are mounted with a pitch, equal to the pitch of the compartments 2 on the conveyor 1. Above the conveyor 1, in the path 19 on which the compartments 2 surround the star 20, are mounted curvilinear plates 21. The conveyors 1 and 14 are kinematically linked together. The device includes an extractor device 23 for recanning the fish in the compartments. <IMAGE>
