In order to reduce the propeller noise which is produced especially in the case of aviation it is indicated for the underside of the profile of the propeller blade to be of concave construction in order that the incident air is deflected tangentially to the rear. The small air inlet edge of the relatively deep propeller profile reduces the drag of the profile. In addition to a major performance yield, a lower amount of noise development can essentially be expected. The tangential propeller can be used in all aircraft, land vehicles and water craft driven by an airscrew.
