Packaging container

A rectangular packaging container having a top part and a bottom part has an upright edge piece on two opposite sides of the top part, at least one edge section on a third side of the top part, and a free opening on the side of the top part opposite the third side. Formed in the mutually opposite edge pieces on the first and second sides is in each case at least one resilient catch lug which projects into the interior of the container and can be displaced outwards by pressure from above and has a predetermined spacing from the inner face of the top part. Formed in the bottom part having an outwardly projecting edge is at least one pocket which is essentially adapted in its dimensions to an article to be packaged. The top part is fitted by pressure onto the bottom part in the vertical direction, the catch lugs of the top part engaging in a clamping manner in the outwardly projecting edges of the bottom part which can be released from the top part by a sliding movement to remove an article, whereupon the packaging container can be closed again by pressing the top part onto the bottom part.
