In a measuring device (11) for determining an angle of rotation, a thread-shaped (helical) milled-on part (12) is formed on a body (solid) of revolution (10) and cooperates with a thread-shaped milled-out part (16) formed in a component (15). The lead (pitch) of the milled-on part (12) and of the milled-out part (16) are at least approximately equal. Due to the rotary movement, the milled-out part (16) is continuously opened or closed with the aid of the milled-on part (12), as a result of which the impedance of a measuring coil (20) is varied and thus a measuring voltage (U) is generated. The measuring device is particularly small and compact in design and permits a relatively large linear measurement range of up to approximately 300@. <IMAGE>
