PURPOSE:To prevent developing roller end parts from cracking by forming a circumference-directional seal member in such a shape that the quantity of intrusion into a developing roller increases gradually from the inside of a developing roller to the outside. CONSTITUTION:The circumference-directional seal member 28 which is wound around the developing roller 22 and sandwiched between the developing roller 22 and a latent image carrier 4 is formed in the shape where the quantity of intrusion into the developing roller 22 increases gradually from the inside of the developing roller 22 to its end parts. Consequently, the developing roller 22 is deformed gradually by the intrusion of the circumference-directional seal member 28 and there is no abrupt bent part, so the part which is strained concentrically by the seal member 28 is nearly evaded and no crack is generated in the surface of the developing roller 22. |
