A disc brake assembly consists of a caliper (4), which straddles the brake disc (3), and which has a recess (8) to receive the brake pads (11). Each brake pad (11, 12) is equipped with a friction lining (11a). The movement of the brake pads in the tangential direction is prevented bny stops by stops (22, 28, 15). Each stop is formed by the cylindrical head (17) of a bolt. Each bolt is mounted so that its longitudinal axis is parallel with the ortational rotational axis of the brake disc (3).
