Known force measuring rings for spindle drilling machines do not permit a measurement of small drilling forward feed forces. According to the invention, therefore, for the detection both of smaller and of larger drilling forward feed forces, a force measuring ring (10) having a tubular force measuring ring body (12) is proposed which contains, in two planes perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (14), in each case at least two sector-shaped slit-like recesses (16, 18 and 20, 22), between which webs (24) are formed in the force measuring ring body (12), on which webs strain gauges (26) are respectively mounted. The force measuring ring body (12) according to the invention is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a drilling spindle tube (28) of the spindle drilling machine. For protection against mechanical overloading, adjustable stop screws (38) are provided. <IMAGE>
