Wind power station having a rotor which is equipped with blades, is to be driven by flowing air, is mechanically connected to a generator for generating electrical energy and is encapsulated by means of a housing (2) which can rotate freely over the rotor (1) into the direction of the wind and is configured in such a manner that the flow direction in the annular channel (3) remains constant despite a changing wind direction, and that the air from the annular channel (3), greatly accelerated, can flow in a constant direction with respect to the rotor (1), radially to the axis (a) of rotation of the latter, from which it enters the discharge pipe (12) in the axial direction. As a result of the outer form of the housing (2), the pressure difference between the admission opening (4) and the opening of the discharge pipe (12) is increased further. A pressure-dependent, electronically closable flap (6) reduces excessive air speeds and protects, in a manually closable manner, the rotor (1) from severe weather. The design according to the invention is intended for mounting on buildings for the purpose of their individual power supply. <IMAGE>
