PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having a photoconductive layer dispersed with photoconductive cadmium sulfide in a resin and having high ozone resistance and moisture resistance in said photoreceptor by using wurtzite type crystal particles which have specific grain sizes, shapes and grain size characteristics. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic receptor provided with a photoconductive layer wherein photoconductive cadmium sulfide is dispersed in electrical insulating resin media on a conductive substrate, at least 80% the photoconductive cadmium has wurtzite type crystal structure wherein and average primary grain sizes are 1.5-2.5mu, and copper is contained at 50-500ppm and chlorine at 10-300ppm; therefore, the photoconductive layer has high resistance against the reiterative attack of ozone and particularly under high humidity conditions the initialcharge potential is maintained at a high level, thus the cadmium sulfide electrophotographic receptor having high print resisting power is obtained. |
