PURPOSE:To cast a thin metallic sheet stably and continuously by constituting a titled device of a horizontal mold of a recessed shape in a longitudinal sectional shape which is provided with a charging port for molten metal at one end and a cooling means on the bottom surface and a rolllike mold which is provided by facing the upper part of the horizontal mold and is provided with cooling means. CONSTITUTION:A dummy bar is charged beforehand into a horizontal mold 14 and, for example, molten carbon steel 12 is charged through a charging port 11. The molten metal 12' flows through a heat resistant and abrasion resistant material 13 and the mold 14 and is deprived of heat with cooling water 17 via cooling water 15 and a rolllike mold 16, thus the molten metal solidifies from both top and bottom surfaces and solidifies in the form of inserting a dummy bar therein. In the stage when the charged metal 12' is filled in the mold 14, pinch rolls are operated to draw the dummy bar, then a solidified ingot 19 is drawn and a carbon steel sheet is obtained continuously. In the same way, alloy steel sheets and Al alloy sheets are obtained. |
