PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a head and to enable overwrite by access from one plane of a magneto-optical recording medium to be performed by providing the optical system of an optical head on a floating type magnetic head, and unifying the magnetic head with the optical system. CONSTITUTION:A circular shape magneto-optical disk 5 is constituted of a substrate 5a and an amorphous magnetic layer 5b laminated on the substrate 5a. The floating type magnetic head 1 is faced with the upper plane of the disk 5, and the head 1 is mounted on one end of a bracket 4 having elasticity, and it is floated over the disk 5 by several microns against the elastic force of the bracket 4 by dynamic pressure. Also, the head 1 is formed in rectangular flat shape and a sliding part 11 is floated by the dynamic pressure, and a coil 13 is wound across a core 12 having an almost U-shaped side plane and one side of the core 12. Also, the optical system 2 of the optical head consolidated in a space less than 100 microns is provided on the downstream of the coil 13 on one side of the core 12. |
