PURPOSE:To obtain the title ester in high efficiency by making bacteria classified as Achromobacter, Bacillus, Cellulomonas, etc., act on an alpha-acetamide- acetoacetic ester. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of bacteria selected from those classified as Achromobacter, Bacillus, Cellulomonas, Chromobacterium, Escherichia, Pseudomonas, serratia and Acinetobacter is(are) dispersed in an aqueous system such as water or physiological saline followed by addition of a saccharide. Thence, an alpha-acetamide-acetoacetic ester is added to the resultant dispersion to make a reaction at 10-70 deg.C for 0.1-150hr. After completing the reaction, the bacteria is separated through e.g., centrifugation, and the resultant filtrate is extracted using an organic solvent followed by distilling the solvent out, thus obtaining the objective alpha-acetamide-beta-hydroxybutyric ester. |
