<p>A method and apparatus is described for pinching closed and separating waste material from a molded article in the production of hollow articles of thermoplastic material by the blowing process. At least four pinch edges (30, 34, 36, 38) are provided to close upon the parison extending beyond the mold cavity (18), and by a symmetrical pressure of the plurality of edges, effects an improved pinch-off with consequent advantages in the articles blown.</p> |
