The cornice for a building is intended to top a facade wall or entablature of a building for purposes of consolidation, anchorage and decoration. It consists of at least one precast element provided with at least one longitudinal cavity (4) capable of receiving anchoring or horizontal reinforcing means, the said element defining a substantially plane base surface (2) and an upper surface (7) which is substantially plane and parallel to the said base surface, as well as a decorative front surface (1) provided, if necessary, with a decorative design. <IMAGE>
