PURPOSE:To prevent thermal fusing, enhance recorded image density and enhance light resistance and preservation stability by causing a receiving layer to comprise a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer as the main constituent and contain a wax in an amount up to a specified ratio to the amount of a resin constituting the layer. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving medium has a dye-receiving layer comprising a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer as a main constituent, so that the medium is free of thermal fusion at the time of recording, and shows a high recorded density and high light resistance. The effect of use of the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer is particularly conspicuous when the copolymer has a vinyl chloride content of at least 80%. The dye-receiving layer B contains a wax in an amount of up to 20wt.% based on the amount of a resin constituting the layer. Use of the wax further enhances the property of preventing thermal fusing of the image-receiving medium to a transfer medium at the time of transfer recording, and the thermal fusing is prevented substantially completely. The wax may be a wax having a favorable release property, e.g., a natural wax such as carnauba wax and paraffin wax, or a synthetic wax such as polyethylene wax. |
