PURPOSE:To form a rubber sheet compounded with active carbon having improved adsorbability by plasma treating a rubber sheet compounded with active carbon. CONSTITUTION:The rubber sheet compounded with active carbon is formed by plasma treating. As sheet-forming rubber, any kind of NBR, SBR, EPDM, fluoro rubber, silicone rubber, acrylic rubber, etc., can be used. The active carbon to be used may be powdered, granulated or crushed and that having about 0.1-0.3g/cm<3> bulk density and about 800-1500m<2>/g specific surface area is usually used by about 1-150 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. rubber. Generally, the rubber sheet compounded with active carbon, vulcanized and formed in about 0.1-2mm thickness, is plasma treated in an optional atmosphere such as air, nitrogen gas, oxygen gas with about 40-80W electric power for about 30-120min under about 0.1-1Torr. |
