PURPOSE:To surely perform trickle charge within an optimum time by detecting surrounding temperature of a storage battery and changing the time applying reserve voltage so as to be inversely proportional to the change of the surrounding temperature. CONSTITUTION:Switches SW1, SW2 are switched to contacts b side by a signal S5 from a voltage polarity switching circuit 7, and voltage of reverse polarity is applied to a storage battery B. A temperature corresponding timer circuit 6 stops a signal S4 after one hour from closing a switch SW, and signals S5, S6 from the circuit 7 are stopped, and switches are switched to contacts a side to finish reverse charge. Charging voltage of normal polarity is applied to the storage battery B for charging. When charging voltage reaches final charging voltage, a final charging voltage detector 4 outputs a signal S2, and a current value switching control circuit 3 outputs a signal S1 to a current value switching circuit 2. Charging current is switched to very small charging current and trickle charge starts. If surrounding temperature of the battery is low, satisfied performance recovery can be obtained by lengthening reverse charging time compared with that at high surrounding temperature. |
