3-Amino-[I benzazepin-2-one-1-alkanoic acids of formula (I) and their salts are prepd. by the condensation reaction of a cpd. of formula (II) with amine of formula RA-NH-R5. In the formulas, RA is -CH(R1R0) [R0 = COR6 = hydroxy or lower alkoxy ; RB is -CH(R2R0) [R0 = COR7; R7 = hydroxy or lower alkyl!; R1 is M1 lower alkyl or cycloalkyl; R2 is H or lowr alkyl; R3 and R4 are each H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, OH or halogen; R5 is H or lower alkyl; X is oxo or aryl; Y is oxo or hydroxyl. (I) are useful as inhibitors of angiotensin converting enzyme. |
