Bonding agents used in the prepn. of grinding goods contains: (i) 1-3 pts.wt. carbon-methyl-cellulose dissolved in 6-8 pts.wt. water. To this 8-12 pts.wt. of acrylic acid-styrene-copolymer soln. (40% solids in water) is added, followed by 0.8-1.2 pts.wt. styrene polyester resin and 0.3-0.5 styrene solvent. To the thus prepd. mixt. 75-85 pts.wt. urea-formaldehyde resin (contg. 60-65 wt.% solids) is added at room temp. under agitation, or b) to 0.2-0.4 pts.wt. carboxy-methyl-cellulose dissolved in 2-4 pts.wt. water 8-12 aq. styrene-butadiene emulsion of 50% solids, and 0.4-0.6 styrene-polyester resin are added.
