The initial value setting circuit of LCD controller sets the initial value of data (for example, mode control, the number of dot on the horizental side, the number of dot on the vertical side, cursor pattern, display start address, the initial value of vertical line number) which controls the size of cursor, and the scan mode the cursor address on the liquid crystal panel, and stores the data according to the horizental or vertical dot size of the user's character. The users can freely set the initial data about the mode control signal and the character size of liquid crystal panel.
