PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent flame-retardance without lowering the thermal stability and fluidity in molten state by compounding a thermoplastic polyester with a specific esterified product, an organic halide, an antimony compound and a specific oxazoline compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester with (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of an esterified product derived from (i) an aromatic carboxylic acid having carboxyl group on the aromatic nucleus and (ii) an alcohol selected from the alcohol of formula I (n is 1 or 2; R is H or 1-6C hydrocarbon group) and the alcohol of formula II (m is 1-15; R' is 2-15C hydrocarbon group; R'' is H or 1-20C hydrocarbon group), (C) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of an organic halide in terms of halogen element, (D) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of an antimony compound in terms of antimony element and (E) 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a compound of formula III (D is bivalent organic group; k is 0 or 1; X is bivalent organic group to form 5- or 6-membered ring of formula IV). |
